Its ears even resemble the similar ridges on the top of Frieza’s head in his second form. With its slender frame and color scheme of white and purple, the creature is highly reminiscent of Frieza. Definitely not! Mewtwo is described as the ‘genetic’ pokemon in much of the game and anime lore, because he’s a genetically altered and cloned version of Mew. These attacks are actually PSI Thunder β, PSI Freeze β, and PSI Flash Ω. Giygas will cast a couple of incomprehensible attacks. In phase 2, Giygas is weak to Brainshock, so have Poo use it. On the eleventh time you Sing to Giegue, he will become silent and admit defeat. Keep at it, though: each time you Sing, you’ll get more of the song out. Unable to take the love in his heart, Giegue will weaken, attacking you to cease the song. Though Mother 2 features chilling notes of alien invasion and the gross-out spooks of the town Threed, Mother/ EarthBound Beginnings is the game most deeply rooted in conventional horror. So by poisoning him in this form, you can kill him. Basically, the programmers made it so that Giygas can’t be damaged normally, but they forgot to make it so that poison damage doesn’t work on him too. Giygas doesn’t exist and the entire final battle is metaphorical. When Ness and his friends finally face Giygas, all he wants is for Ness to end his constant suffering and put an end to the influence he has over the Earth, restoring peace and putting his soul at rest. Mewtwo is definitely modeled from Giegue, along with several other similarities I’m too tired to think of. The creators of Mother DID carry over quite a few influences.
